RuneScape Classic Temporarily Re-opened
If you are a member and previously didn’t have a Runescape Classic Account when the deadline was done back in 2004 (Help me out here, not exactly sure). They are working on making player owned runescape classic servers so that you could use settings to make things easier or get all of the items you need right off the get-go. But for now they have just released two new worlds for those new to runescape classic, even though if you have been playing classic since the cutoff, then you could still be on the older two worlds as well.
Send Us Your Specs 2009
Jagex is gathering data from runescape users that will influence what and how Jagex puts in their next updates.
You download a program which tells Jagex your operating system, your graphics card, your CPU, your Java version, and your graphical drivers. So that they can make sure that the least amount of people possible will miss out on new updates.
Adventurer’s Log
The adventurers log helps players see certain things about members, like a head picture and body picture of them, and their sex, total levels and all of your stats, quests completed, quests started, and quests not started, and big achievements like another level gained, a certain amount of experince gained (1 million for example), PvP kills and deaths, kills of boss monsters, and good items picked up from monster kills.
Potions, Spells and Runes
Jagex has reintroduced their extreme Herblore potions back into safe PvP minigames, like Castle Wars, Soul Wars, safe Clan Wars, TzHaar Fight Pit, and the Dual Arena. They have also added four new high-level elemental battle spells to the standard spellbook. Wind Surge (81), Water Surge (85), Earth Surge (90), and Fire Surge (95), each spell requires 1 blood and 1 death rune, and some of whatever element it is. The max hit of Fire Surge without bonus’s is 28 and with bonus’s is 37. They also updated Runecrafting, before you could craft extra runes off of one rune essence at a certain level, but now there is a chance of getting an extra rune on some of you essences, if you are between those two levels. The higher the level between those two, the better chance your going to get extra.

How many of us have aspired to get a 99 in a skill? This is a common goal on runescape. I hope to enlighten you with information about fishing in members while attempting to reach that goal.
Barbarian Outpost – Bring feathers and a knife. Barb is a fun area that you get to by teleing to the Barbarian Outpost on the games necklace and then walk south to a small house to talk to Otto. He will give you a heavy rod to fish with and you can use the bait that is dropped by other fishers there or just play it safe and just use your own feathers. Then you can cut or drop at your choice. This levels fishing, strength, agility and if you cut your fish – cooking. Most just drop as the roe and caviar aren’t good for much except bait. Barb is the best in experience at about 50 exp per hour plus leveling other levels, just no cash. I found barb fun at times just to do something different and annoying at others when I got tired of dropping.
Fishing Guild – The fishing guild is found east of Camelot or you could just take the skills necklace and tele there. You will need a fishing level of 70 to get into the fishing guild. There are fishing pots and admiral pies that can take you up a level or two so you can enter if you are close. The guild is nice because it has a close bank for storage. You can fish lobs, tunas/swordies and sharks there.
Monks – Monks are by far my favorite to fish as I can vedge, read forums, talk to friends and just relax while fishing them. Some might find this too boring, but at times I really enjoy it. An inventory load takes about 4-5 minutes on average and about 35 k experience an hour there. You have to do the quest Swan Song to fish there. The quest itself is not difficult, but the requirements are many with levels and other quests being prerequisites.
Rock Caves – The new rock caves are amazing and by far one of my favorite updates. Now we can fish and fight at the same time. I spend a ton of time there now and see many high levels fishing or mining there. Bring food ( I usually bring 5 sharks and a prayer potion – I’m a lev 104) a regular rod, just regular bait for cave fish, living minerals for rocktails and a tele to get out. You can find Rock Caves by going in the Fally mine to the side with the railroad tracks and going down the hole there. It only has a deposit box so your nearest real bank is Fally. I don’t find the cavefish to be all that great, but the rocktails are currently the highest healing fish at 22 hps with a bonus. They are worth about 2.5 e at this time and you will fish them faster then sharks, but slower then monks. They are about 40-45 k exp an hour depending upon how often the 120 and 140 monsters attack you so it is a good idea to find a busy world when you go. The fishing spots do tend to disappear some too but after a while you will get used to where to look for them. The rocktails are a required 90 fishing level and the bait is living minerals which are mined from the rock monsters. To mine the rock monsters you need a lev 73 mining or just buy the living minerals at the GE.
Sharks – I call sharks the “cool fish” because they look the coolest in the inventory and look the coolest while fishing them. Handfishing sharks really is the best fishing to watch. You just need a harpoon to fish them at level 76 fishing or your hand after you get 96 fishing.
Shilo – Shilo is flyfishing with bait at Shilo on Karmaja. It is real close to a bank so you can store the trout there. I found Shilo annoying with all the storing and moving of spots, but I hear the exp there can’t be beat.
I hope this helps you in your fishing quests!

The combat triangle is the way Jagex keeps the different ways of combat equal (or as close as they can make it). There is three different parts of the combat triangle mage, melee, and range.
Jagex made it so that it is like the game rock-paper-scissors. Mage does massive damage to melee fighters, but take a lot of damage from archers that use range. I will now go into more detail about the three different ways of combat.

Magic: The mages that use magic are very strong at an early level. At level 20 they can be hitting 9’s on many of there opponents with wind bolt and at level 50 they can be hitting 25’s with Iban Blast. But the main part of the magic skill is the massive damage you can do at a very early level.
The free to play (F2p) mages can hit a maximum of 16 with fire blast at level 59 magic.
The pay to play (P2p) mages can hit a maximum of 25 with the earlier mentioned Iban Blast, with the original magic book.
Some of the advantages of mages are that they can use a quick Bind spell to stop their opponent from getting to close or to make a quick get-a-way.

Melee: The melee’rs or people that attack with any hand to hand combat with swords or items similar to a sword. A melee fighter can defer and a lot more ways then a mage or archers. At level 20 attack, 20 defense, 20 strength, and 20 health points the max is about 6-7 depending on the armour you wear.
The F2p melee’re can hit a maximum of about 30 with a rune 2 handed sword or rune 2-h.
The P2p melee’re can hit a maximum of about 112 with full Guthans armour and weapon, but with a god sword the preferred weapon of choice for most P2p melee’rs you can hit up to about 75.
Some of the advantages of melee’rs is that they have much more variety then the other two parts of the triangle, a melee’r can use a poisoned dagger and have you poisoned and then go in for the kill with a god sword.

Range: The rangers or archers are people that shoot out bolts or arrows out from bows or crossbows (x-bows). At level 20 range they can usually hit very rapid 5’s.
The F2p ranger can hit a maximum of about 19 with a willow short bow.
The P2p ranger can hit a maximum of about 90 with the Dark Bows special with hitting two 45’s at the same time.
Some of the advantages of a ranger is that they can shoot out arrows or bolts much faster then any of the melee or mage weapons or spells. So you can hit a couple of 19’s in F2p PvP or after weakening them down hit up to a 90 with a dark bow.

So the bottom line is that all three parts of the combat triangle have their advantages and disadvantages so pick wisely and try and beat the best!

Yes, as of today, the first of October you can finally change your display name on RuneScape. Here is a part of the update:
Changing your display name
The ability to change display names is currently only available to members of either RuneScape or FunOrb. To change your display name, visit the Account Management section of RuneScape or FunOrb and select ‘Change your display name’. You can then change your display name to anything that is not currently in use by or ‘held’ for (see next paragraph) another player. (NB: Once you have changed your display name, you will be unable to do so again for 28 days, even to revert back to your previous display name, so make sure you are happy with your new name before confirming the change.) After these 28 days, you will have a period of time in which you can revert back to your previous display name, should you wish. You will have at least 7 days after the 28 days to revert to your previous display name, as it will be ‘held’ for you and unavailable to anyone else in this time. Depending on how long that name was in your possession before you changed it, you may have more than 7 days to revert to your reserved name. Read more…
For years this has been suggested, and for years the suggestion was ignored. Why have Jagex decided to release it now? Why did they not implement the change before? What do people think of this? Read on to find out what I think.
As you have read in the quote from RuneScape.com changing your display name is only avaliable to paying members of the game. Why you ask? I think that they really did not care about letting you change your name or not. I think that they were in their meeting, talking about new ways to make money and thought: “We can let members change their names!”. Thinking that this will make people who dislike their display names buy members or even try it for the first time in order to change their names. This is an extra £5 or whatever in their pockets! As if they did not earn enough.. Also, free players who are trying it for the first time, only because they wanted to change their name may be sucked into a members life. Now they have another customer who will pay every month. I find this increasingly shocking.

You won't be changing your name today buddy, you are not a member.
Loyal members who have played the game for years are prohibited from changing their names just because they are not members. What about those young players, who devote their nights and weekends to RuneScape yet they are not allowed members for any reason? Do they not deserve the right to change their name? I am repulsed.
Why did Jagex not introduce this years ago? There could be a few reasons, but you can not really know. Maybe they just did not care. They simply did not think it was needed. I personally think they were focusing on gameplay and graphics. They did not find it a required update. Now they have came up with a way which will most likely increase profits, they jumped at the idea.
Another thing which is interesting, names are now case sensitive. You can have names like ‘I-Mike-I’ or ‘lowercase’. This is a good thing, it will make your name look how you intended it to.
Also, if you abuse the system. For example you have an offensive name, are forced to change it and you change it to another offensive name you could be banned from changing your name for a year and you will be assigned a name by a Jagex Moderator. It will be funny what the Mods come up with, I’d love to see a name like ‘iabusejagex’ or ‘icantfollowrules938′. I would laugh out loud
!
In the past this has been suggested many times, and everyone seemed to have wanted it. I think that this is a good update, and everyone seems to like it a lot. It is an extra bonus. It is about time also, many people dislike/d their name on RuneScape and now you can change it.
Please comment on this blog post, and tell RSBlog what you think.

Mining has been a vital part of this game ever since the beginning of Runescape back in 2001. It encapsulates the back bone of the game itself by providing resources in order to accomplish numerous skills which either entirely depend on or either partly depend on Mining to serve their purposes as skills. Mining has always been an available skill to both members and non-members, this availability thus creates the Runescape population in a whole to critique the attribute itself; for good or worse. This article will touch up on the past, present and future of the skill with commentary from an experienced miner as well as the majority of thought about the skill which was accumulated from endless hours of game-play, Runescape development teams and numerous Runescape fansites/communities.
The past is an indicator of just how far someone… or something has come from it’s previous state. Civilizations forego technological and medical advancements, Academics extent knowledge outward, Life continually evolves to merit needs and wants of the ecological system around it and Runescape has be an exception to this rule by a certain degree. In the beginning, Runescape made mining fairly easy to gain experience in. If you are familiar with the process mining regular or pure rune essence for the skill of Runecrafting, then you transmute that process to mining virtually any ore but with the addition that you can indefinitely mine at one rock and for an unlimited amount of time. Basically, you could sit at one rock and mine it all day with a full inventory whistle ores would continuously auto-drop under you! No one was complaining.
Jagex Ltd. did only what any company would do if their company expanded the populations that were projected to already have be quite large… they made their game much more difficult from it’s previous state. Slowly, one after another, enjoyable factors of miningwere being removed from the game interface; no more sitting at one rock, no more clicking spontaneously, and now there was even a little animation your character would perform before even extracting any ore out of the rock… losing valuable time in the big picture. Feedback soon turned soured about the skill and many veteran miners quit in regards to how Runescape’s mining skill was ruined forever.
Only until recent years has Runescape has given something back to the hard earned skill of mining. Although small, Runescape had provided the miners with such tools as: the Inferno Adze, various summoning spells and special armor. All of these were attempts to help provide the miner with a better attitude towards gaining experience in the skill.
My rant starts here. I have been playing Runescape for around seven years; I’ve experienced many changes throughout my gameplay on one of the most interesting and diverse MMORPG in history. For many reasons, I have generally accepted Runescape’s updates with welcoming arms… yes, capping the trade system, restricting the wilderness and even eliminating holiday drops. When many people complained about these installments, they were generally looking in a first person sense; with their needs and wants being first and foremost. The former adjustments I have stated were all implemented in the game by Jagex because of the fact they were thinking in the company’s best interest; something any one of us would do as well if we were in their shoes. But what I have never stood for, and still don’t to this day, was neglect of certain skills deemed unimportant by the vast majority of Runescape as well as Jagex staff. Firemaking, Mining, Smithing, Fletching, etc. are all skills that are becoming more and more obsolete over the course of Runescape history. I would love to lecture on each and every one of these skills, however, for time’s sake I’ll stick to the skill of Mining.
Firstly, the pinnacle of mining is to mine all ores in the game. Essentially, this can be achieved at the mining level of 85 when you can mine Runite Ore. “Coolio” you say, something that is worth around 11-15,000 gp (11-15k) every time you extract it out of ore deposit (rock). 11-15k may seem like a lot of money per time it takes to extract an ore out of the rock. But, there are numerous confounding factors I would like to point out that shatters the idea of getting rich of Runite Ore Mining. It boils down to the math: I set up 30 different trail times in which I would log into a [completely random*] world at a [completely random*] time. Out of the 30 different trials, I found only 3 times when there was at least 1 Runite Ore left to extract at the level 46-wilderness Runite Mine (2 Runite Rocks). That is a 1:9 ratio in odds of getting Runite Ore. So… say it takes 50 seconds to completely log in, check the world for any Runite, see none, log out and to factor in the world switching time and about 120 seconds (on average *note: educated guess) to extract both the rocks if there were any with addition of log in and log out. Therefore, putting it all together, [(1 World w/ Runite Rocks(2 rocks available)*120 seconds) + (9 Worlds w/o Runite Rocks*50 seconds)]= (450+120)=(570 seconds/1)*(1 Minute/60 Seconds)= 9 Minutes and 30 seconds to mine about 22,000-30,000 gp or to put it in per minute, (2,315-3,158 gp per minute) given if you mine two Runite ores that time you hit runite ore. This calculation shows just how weak the Runite Ore Mining system really is. Another factor demoting Runite Ore Mining is the increase in players acheiveing the benchmark level 85 and the constant number of Runite Rocks in circulation. Runescape has stated that the company has continually added more servers and thus they believe this addition of servers has given miners ample room to mine Runite Ore efficiently. I strongly disagree with this and I believe the two variables: Runite Ore Miners and Runite Ore available, is greatly non-proportional and they will been an even greater divide in the near future if the problem is not fixed.

Secondly, Smithing has gone hand in hand with Mining ever since the beginning of time. Smithing now-a-days is almost an obsolete skill because it doesn’t produce armor highly sought after by the most elite fighters, thus Mining is also indirectly affected with the problem having less of a demand on miner’s ores (Demand goes down, Price goes down). Originally I believe the backbone purpose of the Mining-Smithing combo was to aid in such manners as to provide the most elite armor to the bulk masses but now it seems ever so distant from its original intent that the armors most skilled warriors are now wearing into fierce battles are far more advanced defense-wise than the standard bonuses Rune has given. As an alarming number of players have reached defense limits beyond Rune, it makes the Mining-Smithing combo a less important name as it once held in a former life… giving the skill to the people whom only skill in either of the two for the achievement cape. Way to waste two spots on the skills tab Runescape.
Thirdly, the skill of Mininghas been nerfed by Jagex via experience gains. Gaining Mining experience in Runescape is like watching grass grow in your grandmother’s backyard. All updates toward mining since the game has gotten big were geared towards the direction of which would aid the process of gaining experience. Numerous times have I been in clan chats on Runescape where people were discussing skills. The questions always arises, “What is the most boring skill of Runescape?” Assuming the crowd has experienced all skills well enough, the majority of them reply, “Mining .” Sadly, if anything could be drastically changed about the way in which Mining is composed, gaining experience would have to be the priority.
In the future, if Runescape maintains its unstable relationship with its skills, Runite will be the new Bronze, Gp will be so inflated that your Runite Ore will be worth as much as jugs, and the skill you’ve worked so hard on for months… even years for the achievement cape will be so under-appreciated and disappointing in its perks that it will turn into the next Cooking Cape. So far all signs point to negative for future intentions of the Mining Skill. If Jagex doesn’t act now, then when? A year from now? Five years from now? Ten? Nonetheless, in order to save one of their most dire skills, Jagex must act. Let’s hope they get the message before it’s too late.
- Nix
*Completely random is: To be truly random… or as random as any human can get I used a graphing calculator and used a pre-installed program called “randint”, meaning Random Integer. This program basically has limits of left bound and right bound input values and randomly generates an output variable within and including numbers from left and right bound; for example: {L.bound = 0; //Equates to world 1 \n R.bound = 140; //Last world is 141} and from there it would output a variable. I did this 30 times in order to be considered statistically sound in my calculations. I also applied this concept to times using left bound as 0 and right bound as 23 (24 hour clock) to randomize times.

What is like to be one of the two newest administrators of the RSB staff?
Well it’s an interesting feeling, I feel a tad bit overwhelmed by it all. I’ve been learning to use the Admin Cp and I must say, it’s a lot less “user friendly” than the Mod Cp.
Do you think that Ace and yourself were the best options for the position of Admin?
It’s hard to say, but with how excellent the staff is, I’m sure that any one of our mods would have made a great Admin.
What was the first thing you did when you discovered you were one of the new RSB Admins?
With all honesty I just posted in the Admin topic in the Staff Section, and then went to bed. It was 2 a.m when I got home from my friends house last night. But right now I’m just working with the Admin Cp and trying to figure it out.
Ace and you have been Mods for much longer then the majority of the Mods now, do you think that you should have been promoted earlier?
Hell no, this month was by far my most active in a good six months. I think if Chris had offered it any earlier I would have just declined.
How long have you been a moderator at RSB?
I’ve been a Moderator here for little under 3 years. I was promoted in September 2006.
What have you liked most about being a Admin?
Well it’s pretty early, but I guess I like the ability to get things done. We were kinda Admin starved for the past couple of weeks, so being able to finally ban the IP of some of the spammers is a huge relief. Also having every one Respect Mayh Athoritayyh is also pretty sweet. As a mod, the thing I really enjoyed the most was bouncing ideas off of the other mods in the Staff section. Also as Micki said before me, I like cutting the balls off of spammers
. But hey it’s still a new feeling, I still feel more like a glorified mod than anything else.
What have you disliked most about being a Admin?
Since I haven’t been doing if for very long, there really hasn’t been too much opportunity for the added stress and pressure to kick in. I guess at the moment the only thing I could really think of would be that random guy posting porn and heckling me, but I have pretty thick skin so it doesn’t really bother me at all. As a mod, the thing I disliked the most was dealing with members who weren’t blatantly breaking the rules, but were making the boards unenjoyable to others. It’s hard to ban someone like that with out every one calling power abuse.
If you could change anything about RSB, what would it be?
I would make it so every was friendly and respectful towards all
But seriously, it gets annoying seeing people get into irrelevant arguments. It creates bad vibes man.
Who do you think has helped you the most from RSB?
Well when I first started out I’d say UnseenXS really shaped me into the member I am today. It was his warning to me (the only one I’ve ever had) that made me finally shape up my game. I wanted to prove him wrong so to speak (although not entirely true, I feel it’s a solid way to express what I was feeling at the time). Danago also shaped my RSB experience. He was the main guy I tried to emulate when I became a mod. He was just so level headed and approachable, it really inspired me.
With so many mods either going inactive or moving up to admins, do you think there will be new mod positions soon?
Well it’s hard to say. I know that when we were promoting Isaac we were originaly going to promote three new moderators, but decided that one was good enough for the time being. I do think new moderators may be appointed within the upcoming months, but I can’t give a precise date.
Do you think you can help make RSB more user friendly, like maybe some more added features for the regular member?
Well it’s hard for me to add features as advanced as the credit system, and the Arcade, simply because I lack the ability. I will however be actively be reading suggestions in the RSBoards Suggestions Forum, so if you think you have an idea that could improve RSB for every one, I urge you to submit. I’m always game for new improvements
Are the Admins, ever going to change the ad’s that promote runescape cheats and hacks anytime soon?
This one is a little out of my hands. I know that those ads pretty much single handedly pay for the the domain name and the up keep of the forums. Removing them may not be possible, and in the end the decision is Chris’ to make. I suggest for the time being, everyone just ignore them (unless you enjoy keyloggers and such).
Will the supposedly rumored “shop” come out quicker now that Chris has some help from Ace and yourself?
The problem with the shop is that the program is not currently out. Once the programmer is able to finish it (He may never finish), we will swiftly install it. However, until it is created, the whole shop matter is really out of our hands.
Extra comments? I’d be happy to answer any other PM’s if any one has questions for me.

Here is my interview with the moderator Micki, on RSB. Heres how it went. Enjoy folks.
Interview with Micki
Name: Micki
Age: 20
Location: Washington State
How long have you been a moderator at RSB:
Umm a few months I believe.
Why do you think you were selected for this role?
Because we needed an editor for the events section and they were in desperate need of moderators anyways. Because I am able to be (somewhat) mature.
What have you liked most about being a Moderator?
I like cutting the balls off of spammers. That really is my favorite part. Sounds horrible I know, but it was something I didn’t think about before becoming a mod that is a mod’s job. I like being able to give my opinion in staff. They really do listen to all of us. I am also helpful to a fault. I love helping people on runescape and helping them on RSB too. It’s just a part of my personality. I am able to help them more in my mod position.
I see, and what do you think makes you a helpful person. Is it your personality, or what?
Yeah I tend to be helpful my whole life which I think helps me be a mod. Used to carry around a big purse incase people needed stuff. But that got lame. Even on rs I will go outta my way to help people which can burn ya in the end. Just the way that God made me.
What have you disliked most about being a Moderator?
Ahhh has to be the disrespect because I “havn’t been here long enough” or “only modded because I’m a girl” or whatever excuse people use. Trust me I’ve heard them all. Truth is if you want to be a mod just be nice to people, act mature, don’t get into flame wars, act mature, help people, act mature, obey the rules, act mature, be active, act mature, give decent posts oh ya and did I say act mature??? That’s why I’m here – maturity on RSB is lacking.
Second least fav. is deleting porn.
But when I was a member they spammed porn and that was wayyy worse to not be able to delete it.
That wouldn’t be fun. If you could say anything to that person right now, what would you say?
The porn dude? Get a life!
Do you think you deserve to be a Moderator: If you would have asked me that right after I was modded I probably would have said no. I would have rather been Events Manager with editing capabilities. Now I think I’ve earned my position.
If you could change anything about RSB, what would it be: Ok I believe I would change the cliquiness of RSB. I think we should all just get along and be friends instead of just friends with our own friends or w/e. Personally I think some of the members that have been here longer struggle with this. Plus bann all spammers bahahha.
Who do you think has been your mentor: My favorite mod and example to me has been Sigo. I loved how he would take on the warm welcomes and I do try to follow in his footsteps when I can.
I love both Rker and Arnaud as admins and am sad that they aren’t as active as they were at one time. Rker gave me my first sig. It was amazing. Arnaud’s ability to debate won me over as a member. Instead of a humiliating techniques he wins over his opponant with his knowledge and widom. Even though we don’t see eye to eye on many issues (hardly any) I have thoroughly missed his debates. Unfortunately have only had glimpses of Chris, but have a huge respect for him.

Interview with Isaac!

This interview is with Isaac, the latest addition to the RSBoards Moderation team. The first ever interview on the blog, is definetely a great one. Read on to find out Isaac’s life as a Moderator and a normal person.
Factfile on Isaac
Full Name: Isaac Rivers
Age: 17 years young
Location: Ohio, U.S.
Hobbies: Biking, Snowboarding, Swimming, Drawing, Graphics, Video Games, and as of recently, guitar.
Aspirations: Well recently, I’ve been really getting into guitar as I said. It would be awesome if I could continue to improve on that. I’m still not sure what I’d like to do career-wise. I have a lot of varied interests and I haven’t found something that has really stood out as something I’d like/be able to do for a living. For the near future, I’m likely going to go to college and hopefully find something for a career idea from there.
RuneScape Name: Darkchaos33. I’m pretty inactive nowadays, but I still enjoy popping into the RSB CC once in a while.
Interview with Isaac, conducted by Incogneto
Why do you think you were chosen to become a Moderator at RSBoards?
Isaac: Probably mainly because of my relatively good level of activity, accurate reports, and the usually well structured wording and punctuation in my posts. It wasn’t a huge necessity, but the amount of reported posts and overall spam had been building up a bit, and the staff was looking to promote someone to a moderator position to help clean up.
And apparently I was that special someone who was elected to become the next janitor of RSBoards =P
So far, how are you liking your new role?
Isaac: It’s been great so far! Actually I was afraid to do anything very drastic at all during the first few days out of fear of doing something wrong, but it’s been getting easier to judge what sort of action I should take depending on the severity and conditions of the said thread or posts in question.
What is the best thing about being a Moderator, from your perspective?
Isaac: There are a lot of things, but I think it’s especially great to be able to quickly do away with spam or flaming posts. It’s easier to cut through the problem ASAP as opposed to before where I’d report something and then have to wait on someone else to take care of it. Oh, and as of recently, it’s made me more desirable for interviews, apparently =P
What is the worst thing about being a Moderator for RSB also?
Isaac: A lot of the time it’s judging exactly how harsh I should be when I give an infraction, warning, or just when I delete something a member has posted. I don’t want to go over-board, but it’s not like I want to appear soft, either. It’s difficult trying to stay consistent.
Have you a certain role model among your senior staff, someone who inspired you?
Isaac: Ah yikes. I’ll try to keep the list short. Even when I was just getting started on the boards, Willie and Micki always seemed like awesome staff members in my eyes. They seemed to really have a connection with the community- both the older members and the newer ones.
Rker was also pretty influential as a member who I had aspired to be like as a member of the boards. On a side note, I was sorry to
hear he had stepped down as admin, but I’m sure Ace and Hadd will do an excellent job as our new board administrators.
What is your best memory from RuneScape?
Isaac: Quitting =P ?
Nah, my best memories are probably from back when I was still new to the game, but I always did a lot of stuff with some of my close real-life friends who also played.
You seem to have mentioned a bit about the guitar, what inspired you into trying it out?
Isaac: I’ve always enjoyed music, but in recent years I felt like it had literally changed my life. It’s actually something I’ve wanted to start doing for awhile, but a family friend of mine said he would help me get started and improve, and here I am now, basically. Oh, and I’m doing it to pick up chicks, but that’s an obvious reason =P
What is your favourite band?
Isaac: I probably sound like a broken record, because whenever I’m asked this nowadays, it’s definitely Pink Floyd.
Do you like any sport teams, like football teams or baseball?
Isaac: I haven’t been much of an avid professional sports watcher nowadays, but I’ve always been pulling for my hometown teams like the Cavs, Indians, and Browns.
On RuneScape, what is your worst memory?
Isaac: Honestly, I kind of regret Runescape as a whole just because of how much time it sucked out of my life where I could have been doing something productive. I was, however, hacked once and lost everything in my bank before the PIN update, so I suppose I would name that as the worst thing that actually happened to me in-game.
What is your favourite memory at RSB?
Isaac: Probably being promoted to moderator. As a whole, though, the best thing has definitely been meeting the awesome, unique, etc. members of the community.
Thank you for your time Isaac, have you got anything to stay to the readers of the Blog?
Isaac: Shine on you crazy diamonds!
Thank you for reading, keep checking the blog for more interesting interviews like this one!
