How to Legitimately “Auto” By Bhim

Disclaimer: I do not condone the use of bots in RuneScape.

If you’ve played RuneScape for more than a week, you’ve no doubt seen (or at least heard of) those infamous “bots” that roam the land, chopping trees and caging fish without respite. The level 3 players you see behind Varrock castle chopping away at yew trees, remaining silent when you ask them their woodcutting level. If you don’t know, a bot is exactly what it claims to be: a robot that performs a specific task for the player while the player is away from RuneScape. If you’ve ever been frustrated with sitting in front of the computer clicking on yew tree after yew tree, only to get a load of logs every twenty minutes because there are so many high level woodcutters around you, it’s likely that you’ve at some point considered using a bot – maybe you’ve even employed the use of one. But if you’ve any sense of morals, or if you get that warm fuzzy feeling inside every time you gain a level because you know that it was your hard work and dedication that made the level possible, then you’ve probably ignored the urges and done all your training yourself. How admirable.

But what about when it comes time to do your homework or read an article on RS Haven? You need to get your work done, but you don’t want to neglect the game. You want to continue to gain levels while you are busy doing other things as well. Sometimes it’s difficult to do so; most of the skills in RuneScape require active participation to gain experience at a healthy rate. If you’re not clicking on something every few seconds you’re really just wasting your time. It’s times like these when you wish you had a bot to do your skilling for you while you focus on your calculus.

This guide will teach you how to cheat the system of cheating. That doesn’t make sense? Allow me to explain. Of all the skills in RuneScape, there are two that can be done passively, and will effectively yield you the experience you desire. Not only that, but you can reap large sums of money from these skills – just by doing your homework! These skills? Fishing and Woodcutting. I’m going to show you how to earn 60k+ per hour as a free player fresh off the boat from tutorial island, all with minimal effort on your part.

Woodcutting is a very popular skill in the world of RuneScape, and as the growing user base of the game consider it to be a fantastic means of making money, it’s no wonder everyone and their preferred RuneScape God is clamoring to be a master axeman. The great thing about woodcutting is that as your level increases and you are able to chop more sturdy trees, the trees hold more and more logs, meaning that you can get numerous logs from a single tree alone. It is for this reason that woodcutting can be such a great skill in the context of this guide. Since this isn’t a woodcutting guide, exactly, the beginner’s information will be sparse. I’ll try to present it in a concise format that is easily comprehended.

From levels 1-15, you’ll be able to only chop regular trees. If you want to bank your logs (they sell for a good price on the grand exchange), chop trees somewhere near a bank (as in, not Al Kharid). If you want to increase your firemaking level while chopping trees, might I suggest the evergreens south of the monastery and just west of Barbarian Village. There are plenty of trees there and you can level really easily. At level 15, oak trees will be available for cutting. Power through these and at level 30 move on to willows. The best place to chop willows is in Draynor Village. There are 6 trees next to the bank, and each load yields nearly 2000 experience at about 5 minutes a load. With dedicated training of a few hours a day, one could probably achieve level 70 woodcutting in a week’s time or so.

Once you have reached level 60, Yews are now choppable. But many people advise waiting until a much higher level to chop Yews. I agree completely. But, because this guide is all about being lazy, perhaps being level 60 won’t be a problem. Plain and simple, you’ll fetch a lot more money if you start cutting yews at level 60, but you’ll earn money at a quicker rate if you start at 70. In RuneScape, there are tons of places to chop your yew logs, but for this guide, I’ll suggest the yews just east of the Grand Exchange. Here’s why: there are three trees and they’re all under three clicks away from a banker. What you’re going to do is get on a relatively empty world, click on a tree, and start chopping. Go do some homework and look up at your screen every couple minutes to make sure the tree is still there. Depending on the amount of people there (there shouldn’t be too many), the trees will take two or three minutes to fall. All you have to do is click on the next tree and wait for your inventory to fill before banking and returning. It will probably take you about 10-15 minutes to fill up your inventory, depending on your level and number of competitors.

If you want to make even more money, use time zones to your advantage! If you live in the United States, for example, go on a US server and abuse your time zone to the fullest. If you live on the east coast, then you’re 3 hours ahead of all those Cali kids. That means that if you get home at 3 o’clock from school, the kids on the west coast are just getting out of class for lunch. So you’ll probably have trees to yourself, because a lot of people in your time zone are still en route getting home or doing something else. Get your homework done before 5 and your parents will be really proud. Similarly, if you’re on the west coast, start your homework at 10 PM, when the east coast kids are all in bed. Really, you can abuse your time zone wherever you are, so take a few minutes to look into that, so you can find the best time to chop for efficiency.

The second (and my preferred) method is fishing. The goal is to get feathers and a fly fishing rod and fly fish until about level 50. (Cook and) sell your fish on the grand exchange and then take 3020 gp with you to Port Sarim. Purchase a lobster cage and take the boat to the island of Karamja. 3000 gp will pay for 50 trips to and from the island, without you ever having to go to a bank. Go to the docks on Karamja and try to cage some lobsters. With only a cage and money in your inventory, you’ll hold 26 lobsters before having to return to the mainland. Take the boat back to Port Sarim and bank your lobsters. A lot of people teleport to a cabbage patch or Falador, but that’s because they don’t know about the deposit box. Yeah there’s a deposit box. As soon as you get off the boat, head north to the boardwalk’s intersection. Go east towards the monks of Entrana. Just by them is a Safety Deposit Box. Dump your lobsters there and head back to Karamja. Lobsters don’t sell for as much as yews do, but I’ll tell you why this method is better. You click once, and then you don’t even have to look at your screen for several minutes. When you check up on your game, just click the inventory button and go back to work. Lobsters cage themselves, and you rarely have to click away. At level 50, one round trip will take about 10 minutes. That means that you can spend 8 minutes doing your homework, then run around for 2 minutes and come back. Did I mention you’d be making lots of money?

Once you’re level 65 fishing, you can start fishing swordfish if you like. Take a break and go play the Fist of Guthix mini-game. Amass 200 tokens and purchase swordfish gloves. These gloves double the experience you’ll earn from catching swordfish and will disintegrate after 1000 fish are caught. Swordies are worth much more than lobsters, but they are caught along with tuna, so fishing will be a much more active task.

With these methods you’re effectively “botting” your way to higher levels and large sums of money. You can really do anything you want while you wait for the game to catch lobsters and chop yews, and if you want to actually play, go do something else, or chat with the other players who are doing the same tasks. What a great way to get your work done and legitimately earn experience and money. In fact, since I started writing this guide, I haven’t logged out of RuneScape once. I must’ve banked a couple hundred lobsters by now…

What motivates you to keep playing Runescape?
The sense of achievement when you level up in a skill or defeat someone in a war.

What do you like most about Runescape? and why?
Nowadays, it’s less about the sense of community and it’s like a giant competition. Let’s just say I’m very competitive.

How did you find out about Runescape?
Well, when I saw it on miniclip for the first couple of months, I thought it was just a First Person Shooter. Then when all of my friends told me about it i wanted to fit in, so I tried it and never looked back.

Runescape skill total?
Around 700

Favourite Runescape skill? and why?
Woodcutting, because it makes money and somehow I find it fun to train, mainly because when I was f2p, I would always train around the Draynor Willows, and people would always talk around there.

How do you best go about training this skill?
Talking often to friends, and making them by talking around the area.

Are you a Free 2 Play or Pay 2 Play member? and why?
Just recently became a member, only because my dad has left now and my mum doesn’t care.

WOODCUT!!!!! Because I said so. Well, don’t ask me that question, i only recently made my first M

Any other Runescape money making tips?
Woodcut.

Favourite Runescape quest? and why?
I hate doing quest because I’m no good at them, but probably Dragon Slayer because it was so exhilarating.

Favourite Runescape armour and weapons? and why?
Full rune, because it’s the best I can afford.

What are your three favourite or most valued Runescape items? and why?
Dragon Hatchet, I don’t own it but I want one. My first rune weapon, a mace, given to me by my best friend, which is in my bank to this day. Purple party hat, cause I said so.

What you like doing most on Runescape? and why?
Socializing and organizing my clan.

Favourite Runescape mini game? and why?
Castle Wars ftw!!!

What do you think the future holds for Runescape? and why?
It will eventually run into the ground with the community sense diminished and the friendly strangers who gave you 20k even if you didn’t ask for it.

What improvements could be made to Runescape? and why?
Get rid of PvP altogether, and the G.E. We didn’t need this.

Your three biggest tips and pieces of advice for players just starting Runescape?
Level out all your skills gradually, so you won’t be a noob like me with 11 range.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your Runescape experience?
It has changed a great deal over the years and I hope it will be available for many years to come.

How did you find out about Runescape Boards?
Through the Runescape Toolbar I believe.
I have had several different RSB usernames in the past but the most frequent one I am known as is “Slayergramp”. My original name was “runescape retard”, but later Rker forced me to change it to “Runescape Guy” because the other was offensive to some people…
Right now, people see my name as TzTok-Jad, but I plan to change it in the near future.

RS Account Name?
I have actually had 3 previous accounts. My current account is Slayergramp which has been the most successful of them all. Here is the story of my old accounts:

2005: Gramps222 (Scammed for password)
2006: Dragongramps (Permanent ban for password scamming, haha)
2006: Slayergramps (Password Scammed)
2008: Slayergramp (Success)

Name?
Long story short, it’s Nick. My father wanted to name me “Michael” but my mother refused with my middle name being Angelo. Michael-Angelo? Yeah. If my name was Michael, then everyone would make fun of me for my failure of art talent.

Age?
I really haven’t come clear about this in the past. First I claimed to be 11, which I honestly was. I joined Rsb when I was 11 years old, and I’m 14. I am now mature enough to know to come clean. Maybe in a year or two I might post a REAL picture of me. ^_^

Nationality?
I was born in Newport Beach, CA. I am a true patriot and I live for my country, I later moved to Texas (Yeah, I got the accent) when I was 2 years old. When I was 7, I moved to Calgary, Canada. This is where I live now. I have lived in Canada for 7 years now (Lost my accent ) and I am moving to Pasadena, CA in august.

Favourite TV show?
I don’t watch that much TV, but if I had to choose, probably Family Guy. All those other shows are for 9 year olds. I used to like the simpsons, but that humor slowly left me. I also like South Park. Even though it’s only on once a week for 30 minutes at 10:00 PM, I like what I see.

Favourite bands or artists?
I don’t exactly have a favourite… I like so many. I’m more on the Rock Genre side. A few bands that I like include Led Zeppelin, 3 Days Grace, Metallica, and Avenged Sevenfold. I was very upset when I found out that Avenged Sevenfold’s Drummer died!

What sports do you play?
Tons, I like Hockey, Baseball, Soccer, Football, all those. I guess some would consider me a jock but I don’t get to play much in the warm hot heat of Canada.
(I’m kidding)

Top 3 movies?
Oooooo, this is a REALLY tough question… I can’t pick them in a specific order but my 3 favourite movies are these:
1. Jingle All the Way – An old Arnold movie, but a classic. “It’s Turbo Time!” “It really was a bomb? These are SICK people in SICK world…” Epic.
2. Transformers 1&2 – I liked them both. Non stop action is great. I think I liked the second one better than the first one despite the reviews.
3. Iron Man – Great action, amazing graphics. I loved it. Great sense of comedy and humor too.

Top 3 books?
Hate to admit it but I’m not much of a reader… I haven’t read many books but I know my top three.
1. The Lightning Thief – Loved it. Absolutely amazing story line and description. I can’t wait for the movie.
2. King Arthur – Always was a fan of Excalibur. Great story.
3. Harry Potter 4 Goblet of Fire – I read all 7 books and the fourth was always my favourite. Great storyline and great details. The movie is way not as good as the book.

How long have you played Runescape?
As explained above in my RS name, 5 years. Well, 4, but it will be 5 in November.

What motivates you to keep playing Runescape?
Everything. There is so much stuff to do in Runescape. It never gets old. Also, me and my brother play together and if I quit, he quits, if he quits, I quit. Neither of us want to quit.

What do you like most about Runescape? and why?
Achieving a 99. I’m close to my 99 but I know what it feels like from my brother’s perspective. It is extremely exciting when you see it say: Congratulations! Your _____ Level is 99!
Getting the cape.. It feels wonderful.
However, after you have like 6 99s, the feeling is pretty much gone.

How did you find out about Runescape?
My brother. He was playing it one day and I was like “Woaaaaah! Wazzat?” He claimed it was too complicated for me to understand so he didn’t want me to play. A year later, I see an ad for it on a website, I clicked and I signed up.

Runescape skill total?
1198. Should be at 1200 soon enough.

Favourite Runescape skill? and why?
Construction. Yeah it costs a crap load of money but you can’t say “Partay” faster than with Construction.
^Does that even make sense?

How do you best go about training this skill?
I don’t train it very much at all because of the high price. When I see myself with more then 2m in my bank and I don’t need it, I go HOUUUUSE.

Are you a Free 2 Play or Pay 2 Play member? and why?
Pay to play. Being a member has so many great benefits, it’s so worth it. If you are F2p and you are reading this, I highly advise you get P2p.

Favourite or best way to make money on Runescape? and why?
I catch swamp lizards. For me it’s the fastest because I am not good enough to do things like Gwd. Swamp lizards average to about 300k/hr and that’s good enough for me.

Any other Runescape money making tips?
Don’t buy the “Runescape guide to millions”. It’s useless. All the tips are common sense and are found on any Rs website. I’m sure it’s in the article section on Rsb.

Favourite Runescape quest? and why?
Oh wow… There’s only 130 quests for me to choose from…. uhh, from what I’ve done, I would say good ol’ Monkey Madness. Long, hard and aggravating, but everything is so fun. Ninja Monkey = Win.

Favourite Runescape armour and weapons? and why?
Bandos. It looks pretty awesome to me. Bandos + Slayer helm = Sex Bomb. I love it. I like the style, the colors and the spikeyness.

What are your three favourite or most valued Runescape items? and why?
My money – DUH
My Wc axe – A key item to achieving 99 Wcing.
My armour&Weapons – They are expensive and give you your look.

What you like doing most on Runescape? and why?
KBD. I have gone there only once, but it was so much fun.

Favourite Runescape mini game? and why?
Pest Control, XP rewards are most excellent.

What do you think the future holds for Runescape? and why?
Failure. I’m pretty sure that in 5-10 years, Runescape WILL die and less than 1,000 people will ever play it.

What improvements could be made to Runescape? and why?
Another Challenge. They have Corporal Beast, TzTok-Jad, KBD, Kalphite queen and God Wars Dungeon. They need a new boss. That would be awesome.

Your three biggest tips and pieces of advice for players just starting Runescape?
1. Don’t report people for calling you a noob.
2. Don’t tell anyone your pass, even if they are giving you 9,000,000,000,000M
3. It takes about a month to get used to Runescape, so buy a newcomer map.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your Runescape experience?
It’s been good? I have a lot of fun on Runescape. It never gets old.

How did you find out about Runescape Boards?
Lookin’ for cheats and hacks for Rs and this website came up, lmao.

What made you stay at Runescape Boards?
Why wouldn’t I stay?

Know your surroundings.

What are hotzones? Coolzones? Safe zones? These are the questions you should be asking when noticing your PK’ing environment when on a PvP or Bounty world.

Hot zones are considered crowded places on a PvP or Bounty world, where there are many PK’ers. These places are dangerous, so you get more EP. A flaming skull will appear on the corner of your screen when you enter a hotzone.
The following list shows some hot zones:
-East Ardougne
-Edgeville north to Wilderness ditch
-Falador
-Area surrounding Grand Exchange
-Varrock
-The crossroads of Varrock and Al Kharid
-The entire Wilderness

Why enter a hotzone? Being in a hotzone gives you more EP, which will be explained in future articles.

Safe zones are places where players may not attack each other.
The following list shows all safe zones:
-Banks
-Grand Exchange
-Entrana
-Upstairs in Monastery
-Respawn points (ex. Lumbridge, Falador, Camelot)
-Skill Guilds
-All random event locations
-Fishing Trawler beach (where the trawler sinks)
-The Chaos Tunnels
-Party room

There is a way to fight another person in a safe zone. If a player runs into a safe zone while in combat, a 10-second timer appears. During these 10 seconds the player is safe from all players except from the player who attacked him/her, and other players who have a 10 second timer. Once the timer depletes, the player can no longer be attacked. According to Jagex, this is to prevent “hit-and-run” tactics.

Whenever you see neither a flaming skull or a skull crossed out, that means you are in a coolzone/normal ‘zone’. These are just normal places, where there aren’t as many PK’ers.

Hello and Welcome!

This skill interview shall be short and sweet just like we like it.

Nomen Nudum spots a small obelisk and instinctively tears it to pieces with his pickaxe. He still has 1 Summoning to this day.

Ever wonder what the Asgarnian adaptation of “Where’s Waldo?” would be like?

Insiders have leaked that the keenest of prospectors may be organizing meetings in barren underground trenches. Legend has it that innumerable men exhibiting T-shaped symbols (pickaxes) will one day rise up and overthrow those who praise the ever-so-popular P-icon (the hatchet).

I asked Nix to answer a few questions and here they are:

Do you enjoy mining?
For the most part, yes.

Did you ever dream of 99 Mining?
After about 80 I did.

Were you overjoyed when you achieved 99 mining?
I wouldn’t say overjoyed, but I was glad I got it done.

What would you suggest to miners to mine at 92?
The new cave all the way through 99.

I would also like to add that Nix suggested that when you first start mining, take it slow and in spurts. Don’t try to finish 1-99 mining like a god or something.

Screenies were provided by Rker and Nix.

Hi, this weeks moneymaking guide/blog is based around Woodcutting and Mining. It will show YOU what ways are profitable, and which aren’t so. I will show some free-to-play methods, and some pay-to-play methods.

Hi, this weeks moneymaking guide/blog is based around Woodcutting and Mining. It will show YOU what ways are profitable, and which aren’t so. I will show some free-to-play methods, and some pay-to-play methods.

First off we will do Woodcutting. If your free to play, you can only chop Normal trees, Oaks, Willows and Yews.

Normal logs sell for around 50gp, oaks for about 90, willows for about 10 and Yews for around 440.*

If you have 15-70 Woodcutting, make your money through chopping Oak trees. You will need a lot of Oak logs for 70 Woodcutting, so a lot of money will be made, roughly 1-2M, at the minimum. Once you have reached 70, you should go cut Yews. Down to personal experience, yews are fast enough cash at 90 compared to Oaks.

They might take slightly longer per invent, but have a good price. Oaks can bring in huge profits once at higher levels, so don’t miss out.

If you are p2p however, Mahogany logs and magic logs are also good choices. Mahogany logs sell for quite a bit, and they are recommended around 70 Woodcutting. If you cut them before, they might be slow. They will rake in a decent profit.

If you have 85+ Woodcutting, however, you can cut magic logs at a decent speed. If you are using a dragon axe, the results will be amazing, and extremely fast. However if you use a rune axe, it will be slightly slower. A Dragon hatchet gives you 10-15% more logs an hour. If you are Woodcutting for fast cash, don’t use the Inferno Adze, as it burns 1 in 4 logs.

Woodcutting is my personal favourite, but others prefer Mining, the second method I will talk about this week.

If you are mining ores for your method, then DO NOT MINE F2P COAL. At least not until you get to the mining guild. You won’t have to fight over rocks there, and your coal mining only gets faster as you get to be a higher level. The price for coal is 50gp more than Iron, and Iron is way faster. If you are f2p, I recommend mining Iron until 65-70 mining, then go for Mithril. After 85 mining do Adamant for the real cash.

If you are p2p however, Pure essence, Adamant and Runite ore are good methods, as they are extremely fast using the Dragon pickaxe or Inferno Adze. If you want to mine F2P Mithril, there is a few Mithril rocks at Crandor.

For members, Coal is recommended near Camelot, using the coal trucks, to transport large amounts. Otherwise try mining gem rocks, or other high level pay to play rocks.

My personal mining favourite is Mithril ore, as it is quite expensive, and rakes in a decent profit, f2p and p2p. I have been recommended that you might as well mine mithril, as it is better cash than coal.

It’s your first day as a PK’er right? Here’s your first tip. Anyone with a combat level can be attacked. Are you afraid of Level 138’s picking on you? Don’t worry, there are many barriers that affect who you can attack and who can attack you.

The formula/equation to finding out who can attack you and who you can attack is here.

level range = ( 0.1 × Combat level) + 5 + Wilderness level

Let’s find an example. Considering you were a level 72, then your level range will be 12.2 (considering you are not in the wilderness). That means anyone that is 12 levels above or below you can attack you on a PvP world.

There is a very small chance that a player out of your range can attack you. This is because even though they are not in your range, you are in theirs.

When looking for a player to attack, check out their colors. The color of their name can tell you if they are someone you really want to fight. All the possible combat level colors are below:

Green – Green means the player is below your combat level.
Yellow – Yellow means the player is equal to your combat level.
Orange – Orange means the player is 1 to 6 combat levels higher than you.
Red
White – White means the player is out of your combat range, and cannot be attacked.

That’s all for this time’s PK’ing 101. You’ve only scratched the surface of PK’ing.
