The lives that we touch — Runescape funeral

0

Written on January 9, 2010 by Micki

We don’t really know the lives we touch on Runescape. We don’t know who the other person is, about their likes or dislikes, what they look like, sometimes even their true age or gender. Often we don’t know who is behind the other chair other then the user name and the information that they might share with us.

But sometimes, not often, we get glimpse of truth of their life. I have a favorite cc that I love to prowl. There was a very good player in there by the name of WRS Rasputin I affectionately called Raspy. Others knew him as Jorge, but I always called him Raspy. This cc also had Raspy’s brother and cousin that would drop in, but I never really got to know them. In late October Jorge and his cousin had a car wreck and both died. The only reason I and my other clan chat friends found out was because his brother came in and told us. So we held a Runescape funeral for him. Here are a few pictures from the funeral. rasp 3 done

We just never know about the person on that other computer. When we register there is the little blurb about the other person having feelings and to treat others with respect. People kid around with, “Oh, it’s just the internet” and “Don’t take it so seriously – it’s just a game”, but there are lives represented behind each of those user names.

RIP Raspy.

15.

Nationality?
American

I’d have to say House M.D, or Spongebob Squarepants.

3OH!3, Boys Like Girls, Do As Infinity (jpop band), but I’ll usually like any kind of music.

What sports do you play?
I’m on the girl’s softball team.

Top 3 movies?
Batman The Dark Knight, Blazing Saddles (XD), and Marley and Me

Top 3 books?
The Thief Lord, Wicked, and The Alchemist

Runescape name?
She Is Kisae

How long have you played Runescape?
I’ve played it on multiple accounts for about 5 years.

What do you like most about Runescape?
I like the fact that it’s not as commercialized as WoW, or other MMORPGS. Plus, I got into RuneScape much easier.

How did you find out about Runescape?
I found out when I was at a friend’s house. She had an account, and I thought it looked cool, so she helped me set up my first official Runescape account “Deadgirl 102″. Unfortunately, that account is perm-banned.

Runescape skill total?
I haven’t checked, but it’s around 1k.

Favourite Runescape skill?
It’s a tie between agility and thieving.

F2P or P2P?
P2P.

Favourite or best way to make money on Runescape? and why?
Turning flax into bowstrings. I guess you could say it’s simple and effective, and makes twice the money in a good 30 minutes or so if you just need pocket change.

Favourite Runescape quest? and why?
I don’t have a favorite. I’m not much of a quests person.

What you like doing most on Runescape? and why?
I usually like playing minigames and going to house parties since I can just chat randomly with total strangers, lol.

How did you find out about Runescape Boards?
Ironically, I googled the exact phrase “Runescape Boards” and somehow I ended up here.

What made you stay at Runescape Boards?
A lot of great people and quite a few friends that I have made here have given me the will to stay here. Plus, this place gives out good advice, Runescape related or not.

What do you think the future holds for Runescape? and why?
I think a lot more people will be interested in Runescape, probably because it’s more public and not closed-off, as in comparison to 2 or 3 years ago.

Favourite Runescape armour and weapons? and why?
Dragon armor since it’s nice and simple, plus it’s been here for about the whole game.

What motivates you to keep playing Runescape?
Because I generally have fun skilling, doing minigames, etc.

Favourite Runescape mini game? and why?
I like Barbarian Assault since you can play in a team, and you can get good rewards at the end if you have enough points.

What tips and suggestions do you have for players just starting Runescape?
Try looking at the forums and searching via search bar on the forums on RuneScape. It’s a lot more relieving rather than following people around in game for 20 minutes asking for free gp, food, items, etc.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your Runescape experience?
Not really.

Since my 12th B-day, so over 6 years.

It can be very addicting.

Favourite Runescape skill?
Woodcutting

F2P or P2P?

Favourite Runescape quest? and why?
Monkey Madness, It was the only quest that really had my frustrated even when I used a guide.

What you like doing most on Runescape? and why?
WoodCutting. I’m able to AFK while I train my WoodCutting, thus I’m able to post on RSB, and do other non-Runescape stuff at the same time.

For me, Runescapes future hold ALOT, I’m close to 99 WoodCutting, after that who knows. I personally believe that the worst for Runescape is over, and that all that’s left for it to do is get better. Runescape will last a long time, I know this sounds bad, but I hope that my kids play this game some day.

Favourite Runescape armour and weapons? and why?
I’m still in love with Dragon Armour. It looks cool, and gets the job done. While it’s expensive, I personally believe it’s worth it.

It’s a very addicting game, there’s lots of great people, and playing Runescape tends to relieve the high stress and worries that come with my everyday life.

Castle Wars. I don’t really have any real reasons why, it’s just my favorite Mini Game

What tips and suggestions do you have for players just starting Runescape?
WoodCutting is your friend, even from level 1 that skill has a good profit Margin. Chop those trees, bank them, and sell them.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your Runescape experience?
While I don’t actually KNOW the people that I talk to on Runescape, it’s nice to know that they at least act like they care about me.

Runescape Capes

0

Written on December 25, 2009 by Bob_Wallie

In Runescape, you’re appearance is not all about whether or not you are seen to have the best armour or weapons. Yes, players will marvel over your Armadyl Godsword or your Dragon Full Helm, but your outfit really isn’t complete without Runescape capes.

I know, I know, you’re thinking about why I’m making such a big deal about Runescape capes? Well, if you’re aiming for a level 99 skill, then what’ll be one of the first things you will want to do? That’s right, you’ll want to head over to the Skill Master and purchase your very own Skill Cape!

GoNatter.com - Pages | Runescape | Skill Capes | Skill Capes

Runescape skill capes can only be bought by those who have mastered the skill in question; through means of reaching level 99 in the skill. The Runescape skill cape allows you to non-verbally brag that you’ve completed all of the levels involved in that skill, and you are one of the best. Fair enough, which “infamous” player wouldn’t want to be passed by another player who  is awed by the sight of a Runescape skill cape.

However, more and more people are reaching level 99 in various skills, and therefore more and more people are obtaining the Runescape capes. Okay, there is the Runescape Quest cape that you could aim for as well as or instead of a Runescape skill cape, but even that Runescape cape isn’t as over-rated as it should be! So, back to basics…

It all started a long time ago…in a game not too hard to play…with normal Runescape capes. It’s hard to believe that there are actually normal Runescape capes! Actually, no it’s not…players just seem to have forgotten about them! Gone are the days when players would spend hours trying to find someone to buy a yellow cape from, what with the introduction of the Grand Exchange and various other Runescape capes. However, just because there is nothing seemingly special about normal capes doesn’t mean that it’s not actually cool to wear one. Who needs a Runescape skill cape, quest cape, or team cape? Why not just settle for normal Runescape capes and be done with all of the special Runescape cape “necessity”.

GoNatter.com - Pages | Runescape | Skill Capes | Skill Capes

There are a number of Runescape capes that you can buy which don’t need requirements, that aren’t some by-product of a quest or mini-game. Capes that you can find here or there and wear to your delight. So why not find a normal cape, and transform it into a colour of your choice having dyed it?! Different coloured Runescape capes await you…go get yours now!

I don’t have a favorite, but I really like cooking and fishing. It’s a blast and you can easily make profits from either skills to work on others.

I am free to play. I have been pay to play before though. Some skills I have from P2P I wish I can raise.

Dragon Slayer. I find it long, but it has a great reward and I really enjoy the feeling and atmosphere it gives. Makes me feel like I’m really in the Middle Ages.

Repeat what you did on Tutorial Island / the new training thing. It can help you a lot and if you do it a lot, with patience, you can make some profits and get a good start going.

I’m okay with my experience. I don’t have much.

How did you find out about Runescape Boards?
I searched up RuneScape on google and this is what came up. I’m really fortunate I joined.

What made you stay at Runescape Boards?
All the nice members, active staff, and great community and features.

Ahhh the Good Old Days of Runescape

0

Written on December 24, 2009 by Smoke

Remember when you first logged into Runescape? On any account? I’m talking about the days when you had no idea what a pure or what a Zezima was; where 2376 wasn’t a number of significance to you, and when you accidentally clicked on a yew, saw you needed 60 woodcutting, and thought “Well, who the hell has the time to get 60 woodcutting?”

When you wore that bronze pick and ventured into the falador mining caves, mined iron, and from it, made your own iron armor. You were so proud of it, and even if some level 76 called you a noob, you thought that you were pure gold. Remember when you killed goblins for loot? Where Demon Slayer was one of the hardest feats ever? Upon reaching the wild, your heart raced and you were scared to venture past level 4? Or when you finally were able to tread on, discovering greater demons for the first time?

I remember when I was around level 30 or so, and figured mining coal in the Falador Dwarf caves was the best money ever. I was so scared of the scorpions, even though they were aggressive. That king scorpion, the level 32 one, really annoyed me though. There were two of them, I believe, not sure if they’re still there. One by the two coal rocks near the stairs, and on the other side of the thing in the center, near the mith ore. I had a lot of memories in that cave, including maging scorpions by hiding behind the tin rocks. I used the air spell, because that was the only one I could afford. I thought spending 5k to obtain 500 mind runes was only if I really needed level 27 for varrock teleport, and I could only afford around 10 laws at a time.

I also remember a really good friend, Serrafina5. She was ~ level 110, and she helped me out with the assist system. She had high mining, and we ventured into the wilderness. I brought some gp with me, bought a bronze pick, and with her assist, mined two rune ores. I was so happy to have those fabled ores in my inventory. I was so excited, we were about to bank when a rev came and killed me. I was so annoyed, but Serra agreed to help me mine 2 more. I didn’t want any, though. I didn’t venture much into the wilderness after that. As a christmas present, around 5 days before the trade limits started, she gave me a Zamorak kite. I was soooo happy, I kept thanking her everytime she logged on, almost to the point of annoyance. I eventually grew out of it, but I’m still glad she gave it to me. I actually held it up until this summer, until a certain someone sold it. >.<

I remember air running a lot, and wondering how people got such high runecrafting levels, even before realizing how much the gap widens between each as you get higher.

I met a cool person there, named Bert100. He was a p mod, and he was nature running. He was the only person offering 2k for each trade, I made 200k of off him. With that, I said I’d buy 10k of his air runes, I was trying to merchant them. He said that if I was interested, he’d add me so that I can buy more from him. I was so happy, a p mod as a friend!

I made another friend, sort of. He asked me for limpwurt roots. I was wondering what kind of possible junk he could possibly make with this, but I was intrigued. I asked him, but he wouldn’t tell me. However, the money was good. I ended up getting a rune 2h, and I even started trying out the wildy again. I didn’t lose it either, (but that’s not to say I got a kill ). Eventually, though, I did lose it. One day, the same employer, I think his name was Mmorgan, told me of this cool trick to duplicate your most valuable item. I asked him what this was, and he told me all you had to do was drop your most valuable item on the ground, and press alt + f4. I know, I fell for it. When I logged back on, I tried to PM him, but he wasn’t on. I eventually realised he used the ignore feature. I was so mad, I reported him, but I remember seeing him again in Varrock east bank, buying Runes. I kept spamming how he was a scammer, but it had no effect, he had me ignored. I did meet a new employer, though, called Wendyman1.

Wendyman1 was possibly the awesomest person I ever met. I was looking for work, and he needed someone to get him cowhides cheaply. I got him ~ 3k cowhides, I was so tired after. He paid me 75 each, a grand total of 225k. I was so happy, and was about to buy full rune, but he stopped me. He realized it wasn’t a good thing to be paying me so little for all my hard work, so he added another 300k. With that, I proceeded to buy zamorak helm, (this was before the kite, mind you), and I wore it to the wilderness, thinking it would give me some sort of protection. I was wrong, obviously, and almost started yelling when I respawned in lumbridge, but at the last second, I checked my inventory, and there it was, sitting. I was so grateful, so I sold it as quick as I could, and stashed the money in my bank, never taking all of it out at once for a while, until my friend taught me how to merchant. I spent a lot of my days merching rune sets, and it got me to my first million. I was sooo happy, I told my friend and he decided it was time to celebrate. We met at varrock bank, and he had a surprise for me. He took out the bazooka from MEP2, the one that shoots frogs, and we proceeded to “rob” the bank. We didn’t actually get anything, no one was THAT gullible, but we did get a lot of noobs asking where he got it, me included. I felt special to be friends with such a cool guy.

With the introduction of the clan chats, I was snooping around, and I found a chat with the name of “K”. Seriously. So, I spend a while in there, and get promoted to friend during a drop party he had. I was so happy, because the chat recieved a lot of traffic, I was becoming well known. After passing through for a while, I eventually got the rank general. I was now ranked with the best, even though I was probably the lowest level there. :X

I met an awesome person named Twinkle Pop, and she liked to refer to herself as Aqua. She had an awesome British accent, and I loved to hear her voice. I didn’t feel attracted to her or anything, but Brits rule is all. Anyway, she made an RSMV, I was in a couple of those. I bet you could still find them, her channel is TwinklePopStyle. There was speculation about her being asian, but I have too many asian friends, so I know what their voices sound like. I’d rather believe she was brit. I had a lot of good times in that cc, until some people got powerhungry and started massing. K, also known as Mick, was forced to derank everyone, and slowly rerank people he trusted. I wasn’t one, but I eventually got my rank back. However, the people I knew left Runescape, and I only go into that clan chat now once in a while. However, everytime I do, there’s always something fun going on.

Fury, fury fury…What will Happen to the Runescape Fury?

With the new update, the fury is no longer available at tokkul purchased with runes. http://www.rsboards.com/runescape-forum/showthread.php?t=113627&highlight=fury Because of this the fury has shot up from 6 mil. to 7 1/2 , but is that the end of it? With the amazing stats the fury provides, this player, for one, does not think the fury will stop climbing in value.

Picori’s Runescape Woodcutting Interview

0

Written on December 18, 2009 by Aaden

Name? Aaron (Username is Picori)
RuneScape Name? Azza 4 Life5
Age? 16
Nationality? Australian
What is Woodcutting? Woodcutting is when you cut trees in RuneScape for gold pieces (gp). You need about 60 to really start raking in the gp though.
What made you decide to train Woodcutting? I needed gp for training my other stats.
When you first started Woodcutting were you F2P, and if so, did you find it hard? I was F2P when I first started woodcutting. Yes, I did find it hard after 50 or so as it took longer to level up.
Why did you choose to get 81 Woodcutting? I’m not sure.. I guess it was because I needed money and I eventually got to that level.
How long did it take you? Um.. about a month or so from 65.
Did you ever want to give up? No. I need it for getting money.
Do you plan on getting 99 Woodcutting? Maybe. It depends on how much time I have on my hands.
What is the most useful thing about Woodcutting? The money it makes.
Is Woodcutting a good way to make money? Yes.
What is the best way to train Woodcutting? Ivy. But I cut yews to reap the benefits.
Did you ever find yourself unable to make profit from Woodcutting? No. Even at 10 woodcutting I could make a bit of cash.
If you get 99 Woodcutting, what would be the first thing you would do? Sell all the logs I’ve cut and get rich.
Would you ever train Woodcutting to 99 or even 81 again if your level was changed back to 1? No. I’d probably get it to 65 or 70 and leave it. I’ve got fishing too.
What are the benefits of 81 Woodcutting? Good money income.
Is there a bigger advantage too having 99 Woodcutting? I’m not sure.. you could probably cut faster.
Is Woodcutting your favorite skill? It used to be but I’ve found better skills other than it.
